Brighton woman tells us how she successfully made a whiplash claim

"My Fiat Punto was loaded up and I started heading towards Hove to see one of my oldest customers. I've been cleaning her house for years and had made the same journey a million times.

About 10 minutes into my journey, I approached a busy roundabout and started to slow down when I saw that there was a queue of traffic. I was at the back of the queue when all of a sudden there was an almighty crash and my head was sent flying towards the driving wheel, I slammed on the brakes and my head was flung back into my headrest.

I was completely stunned and couldn't understand what had just happened; I later discovered that the driver of the vehicle behind me hadn't been looking where he had been going and had hit me at 20mph. When I was sat in my car I started to feel severe neck and shoulder pain. I was taken to hospital and told by doctors that I was suffering from whiplash and would need to take several weeks off from work to recover. Being self employed and having to take time off from cleaning meant that I would lose out on my earnings and struggle to pay the bills.

I decided that I shouldn't have to suffer in silence and so I decided to make a whiplash claim against the driver of the vehicle that had crashed into the back of my car.
