Claim for car crash compensation settled at High Court
A woman from Wicklow, who sustained severe personal injuries after being thrown in the air following a car crash, has settled a claim for car accident compensation.
Over four years ago the 22-year-old had met with friends for a swim at Brittas Bay where they were also drinking alcohol.
On the return journey home, a friend of the woman began driving recklessly. As he attempted to overtake a car on the N11 his Rover crashed into a tree, causing the vehicle to flip over and collide with a truck.
The woman was thrown 30 feet from the front passenger seat causing her to suffer six broken ribs which punctured her heart and caused a blot clot. Due to the extent of her injuries she was forced to undergo lifesaving surgery.
The woman later launched a car accident compensation claim against the driver of the Rover for her injuries and financial loss which has since been settled.
