A woman who lost her husband to a tragic car crash that was caused by two men's reckless road racing dual has launched an injury compensation claim that, potentially, could be worth several million pounds.
The car crash happened in April 2007 on the A36 in Wiltshire and involved a seven-car pile-up, all caused by an 80mph-plus road race between two drivers.
Tragically, the accident compensation claimant lost her 50-year-old husband in the incident and has now instructed a no win, no fee lawyer to launch a claim for damages against the widow of one of the drivers; he was also killed in the incident.
During a trial at Salisbury Crown Court, the collision was described as being caused by a "sustained episode of dangerous and competitive driving".
Now the widow, under the terms of the Law Reform (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1934 and the Fatal Accidents Act 1976, has launched her car crash claim for "unlimited" compensation of more than £300,000.
