New results from EuroNCAP, detailing the safety features of small cars, include scores from an additional whiplash test.
The six cars tested - Kia Soul, Peugeot 3008, Honda Jazz, Hyundai i20, Audi Q5 and Suzuki Alto - scored well on average, with five of the six scoring the full five marks for car accident protection levels; the Alto dropped to three stars on the new Euro NCAP ratings.
The new ratings measure four areas within a hypothetical car crash: adult occupant protection, child occupant protection, pedestrian protection and safety assist. This includes measurement of the likelihood and severity of whiplash being suffered, a test in which the Kia Soul appeared on top.
