A family of four from Kent had to be taken to hospital with car crash injuries, including whiplash, after crashing into a wall near the town of Sittingbourne.
The whiplash incident happened in the afternoon of January 3 and is thought to have been caused by intense low sunlight.
The family's Citroen Berlingo was so badly damaged that firefighters had to cut one of the vehicle's rear seat passengers free.
As well as suffering whiplash, injuries suffered by the family included a broken arm and a broken collarbone.
There are no reports of any of those involved seeking to make a passenger injury compensation claim.
