A whiplash scare froze traffic on a road in Hertford this week following a collision between a Ford Focus and a Vauxhall van.
Police were called to the scene around lunchtime after calls alerting them to the car accident at mini-roundabout junction on Stansted Road.
A witness told the Mercury, "Police were doing their best to direct traffic but it was snarled up from the mini-roundabout all the way back down the Ware Road."
An ambulance was also called to the scene after a witness reported that one of the drivers was suffering from whiplash, although these reports turned out to be groundless, meaning that traffic could quickly be cleared.
However, whiplash can sometimes take several days to develop, meaning it is possible that no win, no fee claims may yet stem from the car accident.
