Whiplash and charges result from Stamford accident
A Northampton man who is alleged to have caused personal injury, including whiplash, to a Stamford shopper while driving a stolen van has been charged by the police with various offences.
The incident in this case occurred last week. A 46-year-old woman was knocked down by a white Mercedes Sprinter van at about 10am on Tuesday in Stamford city centre, and suffered a whiplash injury and bruising to her legs and head from the road traffic accident.
The man alleged to have been in the crash has been charged with aggravated theft, driving while disqualified, and other offences. His trial has been adjourned, and the man has been placed in custody. Police are seeking witnesses, and invite calls on 01476 402222. No comment has been made regarding the woman's intents to make a compensation claim.
