A pre-Christmas pile-up may see five separate whiplash injury claims after a three vehicle car accident on the A19, close to the A183 slip road, in Sunderland recently.
According to a spokesperson from the Northumbria police force the vehicles involved were a white Ford Focus, a blue Fiat Punto and a white Mercedes panel van.
Ambulances attended the scene and five people were taken to hospital suffering from whiplash.
The car accident caused long delays for motorists as lane three was blocked temporarily.
