A taxi driver from Blackpool who suffered whiplash in a night time roadworks-related accident has spoken of how he feared he was going to die, calling the roadworks a "death-trap" that should have been better lit.
Whiplash was not the 28-year-old's only personal injury; he also sustained cracked ribs as his vehicle careered into some sandbanks.
The taxi driver recalled, "I thought I was going to die. They've put these roadworks in the worst place in Blackpool for fog. "It should be lit up like a Christmas tree and there should be a reduced speed limit."There was a car coming the other way so I swerved back but the car went on the same side of the road so I had to swerve right and I lost control."The car went on a massive skid. I hit the kerb, my car went up in the air and dropped in a ditch in the sand dunes."
He also said that, while he is glad to have escaped with his life, the impact of the car accident has proved long-lasting. "I'm lucky I'm not dead. I'm quite frightened to drive now. I'm paranoid," he said.
The man has not stated whether he intends to make a no win, no fee claim for his car accidentwhiplash injury.
