School-aged brothers compensated for car crash injuries
A ten-year-old boy from Dublin has been awarded whiplash compensation of €21,000 for a 2007 car accident that left him suffering the painful hyperflexion neck injury.
In addition to the whiplash compensation award, the boy's younger brother was also awarded a sum of car accident compensation for the same incident, in which their family vehicle was hit from the rear by a woman motorist.
The two boys' parents decided to take the case to court after the elder brother's neck injury resulted in him developing concentration difficulties at school, including headaches and blurred vision.
Both boys are now thought to have fully recovered from their injuries and their parents say that they whiplash compensation decision has now brought the matter to a close.
