Personal injury suffered by pensioners who hit tree
An 82-year-old man has been hospitalised in a car accident at Chatsworth House that also gave the driver of the vehicle whiplash.
The older man was a passenger when the car crashed into a tree last week on a B road. He was taken from the site of the road traffic accident by air ambulance and flown to Chesterfield Royal Hospital, where he was treated for personal injury suffered, and remained in critical condition. His wife, in the rear seat, suffered only minor passenger injury.
Three further ambulances, the fire service and the police force were called to the scene, allowing two trapped people to be cut from the car. Witnesses have been invited to come forward.
The whiplash sufferer and his passengers are all from Brimington, Derbyshire, and were travelling towards Breeley.
