Emergency services attended the accident, and treated most of the injured parties at the scene. Police have appealed for any witnesses to the accident to come forward with information.
The crash occurred just after noon in the Scottish town of Sanquhar, and reports suggest that twelve passengers were injured in the collision.
The bus driver was not injured in the collision, but the van driver was taken to hospital suffering head injuries. A police spokesperson said of the other people involved in the crash, "Around a dozen passengers were injured in the collision. They were mainly treated for cuts and bruises, while other passengers were believed to have suffered from whiplash."
