A Welsh motorist involved in a devastating car crash in June 2008 is calling for witnesses to the incident, so that he can hopefully make a car accident compensation claim and continue with his life.
The accident occurred in a lay-by at Abergele, near Colwyn Bay, after his Volvo XC70 estate was struck by another vehicle.
The driver sustained life threatening head injuries, and he now suffers from post traumatic amnesia that means he has lost a large amount of his memory. He also has problems with his short term memory and suffers physical shaking, headaches and bouts of depression.
The driver of the vehicle that ploughed into the lay-by was treated for leg and chest injuries, but as of yet, no-one has been able to identify a direct cause of the accident.
The Volvo driver and his wife have now called on anyone who witnessed the accident to come forward to try to explain the circumstances of the accident more fully.
His wife spoke recently of the crash in The North Wales Daily Post. She said, "It's ruined our lives. [My husband] is not the same man. It has affected him physically and mentally.
"It's taken his life away. He's very dependent on me now whereas before he was a very independent man.
"We are now struggling to pay the mortgage and other bills."
*A replacement vehicle can usually be supplied within 4-6 working hours, where there is an admission of liability from the other person’s insurance company. If this person is not known, their insurance details are not known, they are uninsured or there is a potential dispute over who caused the accident, a replacement vehicle cannot be provided.
