Toyota drivers could once more be in danger of having to make car crashcompensation claims following the warning that 270,000 of the brand's cars' engines could cut out while the vehicle is moving.
Although the faulty cars have not yet been recalled, the Japanese car manufacturer has not ruled out the move as the company has received thousands of complaints after customers' cars have stalled for no reason while the vehicle is moving.
The fault, which is caused by improperly functioning valve springs, has been found in some Lexus engines and can cause abnormal engine noise and unstable idling.
Over 200 law suits are pending in the U.S following Toyota's problem with a 'sticky accelerator' that it experienced earlier in the year which led to the recall of 280,000 cars in the UK.
Around 3,000 of the affected Toyota Lexus models have been sold in the UK. No car accidents have yet been associated with the problem, however, car crash compensation may be claimed if the problem causes an accident.
