Second car accident since January for jinxed driver
A young driver from Whitby has been featured in the local press after suffering her second serious car accident in the six months since she passed her driving test.
This week's car crash occurred as she was driving home for tea with three friends; a pheasant dashed into the road, causing her to panic and swerve. A second swerve to avoid two pedestrians meant that she lost control of the car, which rolled over and ended up on the grass verge.
All emergency services attended the scene of the road traffic accident, and the driver and two passengers were taken to hospital to examine the extent of their personal injury. The fourth was unharmed.
The earlier accident, at the beginning of the year, had been more serious, as the young driver had collided with an articulated lorry.
"I was lucky to be alive after that," the young woman said.
"I wrote off my blue Corsa and bought my green Saxo as I need a car to get to work and back as I live in Sleights and work in Whitby."
"My fingers are all cut to shreds and I have got whiplash. I am a very unlucky person – if bad luck happens, it happens to me."She also expressed hopes that her friends would recover from their car accident injuries soon.
