A 43-year-old cyclist has been killed in a road crash in Southend.
The man was with another cyclist last Saturday (4th July), when he hit the windscreen of a Silver Vauxhall Astra and was flung several feet before landing underneath a parked silver Audi A4. He died at the scene, his partner was uninjured.
The road accident occurred at 3.25 am but the road remained closed until 10:30 am while police accident investigators gathered information about the crash.
The 19-year-old Astra driver was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving but has been bailed until October pending further enquiries.
