Police investigating a road traffic accident in Bristol that caused fatal personal injury to an 11-year-old pedestrian have taken the unusual step of revealing the name of a woman they want to speak to.
The woman is the registered owner of the white Ford Focus seen driving away from the car accident at speed, and has not been seen since the day of the crash. While a woman was observed leaving the car and fleeing on foot, the police have not stated that the owner was necessarily driving.
The car crash occurred when the vehicle mounted the pavement, colliding with four children and the father of one of the children. The man received minor personal injury, and the remaining three children were unhurt. The reason for the accident is yet to be established.
The force has asked the owner to come forward, and for witnesses to the fatal road traffic accident to contact them.
