999 police car accident to be investigated

A Suffolk car crash involving a police vehicle on a 999 call is to be investigated by the Roads Policing Unit.

Although no serious personal injury was suffered, both the police officers in their marked Ford Focus and the driver of a white van that was also involved in the road traffic accident were examined by emergency services called to the scene. All three reported neck pain, and one police officer had suffered a burn mark.

The car accident scene was cleared within an hour.

A mother of five children was charged with possessing a knife in a public place as a result of the 999 incident that the police were on their way to when the car crash occurred.
