Bus crash news 08/10/2010
Nine hurt in Welsh bus crashNine people were hurt after a bus crash in the centre of Caernarfon, North Wales, resulting in serious head and leg injuries for the driver, who had to be cut free from the wreckage. A couple in a following car and passers-by gave first aid to the passenger injury victims, whose accident injuries ranged from fractures to cuts and bruises. The condition of the 46-year-old bus driver, who was taken to a Liverpool hospital for treatment to his head injury, initially was described as poorly. Two men and six women, who were on the badly-damaged bus, were treated in hospital, although most were able to go home after treatment. The Mercedes S4 service bus, operated by Padarn Bus Ltd, apparently went out of control while negotiating the roundabout, although a spokesman for the company did not comment to the Press. North Wales Police are anxious to speak to any witnesses and establish the facts relating to the bus accident. When police investigations are complete, some of those who suffered a passenger injury in the bus crash could be eligible to make a compensation claim for their personal injury or loss of earnings.
