Seriously injured motorcyclist battles to walk againA man who sustained severe personal injuries in a motorcycle accident has vowed that he will walk again, despite damaging both legs. The man, who was 21-years-old at the time of the accident, had been on a motorcycle ride with a friend in September 2010 when the road crash took place. As they headed west along the A30 from Yeovil something along the road caused the man's Kawasaki motorcycle to drop away from beneath him. The rider slid down the road and crashed into a post, causing him to suffer severe personal injuries. The young man was rushed to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton where he was treated for various injuries, including severe internal bleeding, a fractured pelvis and broken back as well as damage to the nerves in his left leg. Previously a fit and active engineer and nightclub security guard, the man was forced to undergo numerous operations and ended up losing his right leg and a kidney as a result of the crash. Although he is able to use a prosthetic limb in place of his right leg, the nerve damage to his left leg means he is dependant on a wheelchair. However, despite the personal injuries sustained in the motorcycle accident, he has vowed that he will work his hardest to walk again.
