Manx police are seeking the driver of a car who did not stop after being involved in a road traffic accident on the Mountain Road.
The crash occurred following a previous car accident, in which a silver Peugeot collided with a red motorcycle at 8pm on Sunday. Following this accident, a car crashed into the motorcycle, which was still lying in the road, and drove on towards Ramsey without stopping.
Fortunately, the rider of the motorcycle had, by this time, been moved from his vehicle and taken to a nearby hospital where his minor personal injury was treated.
A spokesperson for the Isle of Man's police force appealed for witnesses, and reminded the public that there is a legal responsibility for anyone involved in a road traffic accident to stop - or to report the crash to the police as soon as it is safe to do so, if it is not possible to stop safely.
*A replacement vehicle can usually be supplied within 4-6 working hours, where there is an admission of liability from the other person’s insurance company. If this person is not known, their insurance details are not known, they are uninsured or there is a potential dispute over who caused the accident, a replacement vehicle cannot be provided.
