A Burnley man has been involved in a bizarre car accident, in which he crashed into a funeral home after his foot became stuck on the accelerator while reversing.
Fortunately, no-one was injured, although the driver was treated for shock by paramedics who attended the car accident scene and the four-year-old car received serious damage. This means that there is not likely to be the need for anyone to retain a personal injury solicitor, although a compensation claim on the insurance is likely to be made.
The chief paramedic said, "The car had already been moved from the building when we got there. We cordoned off the area to stop pedestrians walking underneath the unsafe building.
"The police and ambulance attended, but this was just an accident. The driver got his foot trapped on the accelerator."
The car crossed a main road, meaning that if another vehicle had been passing at the right time to crash into it, there could have been a much more serious car accident.
*A replacement vehicle can usually be supplied within 4-6 working hours, where there is an admission of liability from the other person’s insurance company. If this person is not known, their insurance details are not known, they are uninsured or there is a potential dispute over who caused the accident, a replacement vehicle cannot be provided.
