Fronting could invalidate insuranceOne of the UK's larger no-win no-fee whiplash claim handlers has warned parents of the dangers of "fronting" - the practice whereby a parent is named as the main driver on a policy, in order to save money, when the main driver is in fact a child of the parent. The spokesperson commented, "What may seem like an attempt to save money can have real costs when needed. Falsely claimed insurance is invalid, which means where repairs or medical costs become involved, it can cost big money. "The issue is especially important when making a personal injury claim. Whiplash is a very common condition from road accidents, and treated fast can have its impact minimised. "However, if the insurance is invalid, then there will be nothing to cover the compensation claim for whiplash injury. This is especially important as, if left undiagnosed, whiplash can become debilitating, leading to time off work for recovery and frequent hospital visits." While a spokesperson from the Car Accident Advice Line, one of the UK's leading car crash injury compensation specialists, also warned, "Fronting may seem tempting, but insurers are using increasingly sophisticated methods to weed out the fronted policies. Indeed, in some cases fronting may even result in prosecution."
