Amputee victim becomes millionaire following £2m payoutA man who suffered severe personal injuries in a motorcycle crash when he was 15 years old, and was subsequently awarded road traffic accident compensation, has appeared on a TV documentary, The Secret Millionaire, to help charities working with disabled people. The man, who is now 30-years-old and a property developer worth £9m, has struggled with the stigma of being disabled most his life. To help face his prejudices, he went undercover to get involved with others coping with disability without them knowing his financial status. To help him keep his cover he was forced to swap his state-of-the-art bionic leg worth £50,000, which is one of its kind in the UK, for a standard NHS prosthetic limb. The programme also saw him take part in an assault course with an inspiring triple amputee war veteran. As a result of the show he was confronted with the reality of living with a disability without the wealth which has made his life easier. The secret millionaire who took part was awarded more than £2m in road traffic accident compensation when he was 23-years-old and has since built up a property development company based in Norwich.
