A Ferrari driver and his passenger were lucky to escape with their lives after a high speed car crash reduced the £110,000 luxury car to a burnt-out lump of metal.
The 32-year-old driver lost control of his 360 Modena on a bend, causing it to crash over a hedgerow, before landing in a farmer's field and bursting into flames in the car accident near Seaham, County Durham.
Another driver who was passing pulled the couple from the wreckage of the road accident before the Ferrari caught fire.
The driver suffered a broken ankle while the woman passenger had pelvic fractures and a broken hip.
The vehicle burned so quickly in the car crash because it comprised mainly carbon fibre and aluminium parts.
