Pile-up compensation claim for families of fatalities 16/08/2011
The family members of two victims who were involved in a fatal car crash in Dale City, Virginia, USA, will have to await the findings of police investigations before making a compensation claim for their loss. A police spokesperson who examined the three car pile-up stated, "It looks like a man driving a Toyota pickup truck was driving southbound...he had a passenger in his vehicle. For reasons to be determined, he crossed the median into oncoming traffic." The driver of the pick-up, along with his passenger, were both pronounced dead at the scene having suffered fatal personal injury. The woman driver of one of the cars involved in the collision with the pick-up was pronounced dead at the hospital. The driver of the third vehicle involved did not require medical attention. Detectives are trying to determine what could have been the cause for the accident, whether it was speeding, or if drugs were involved. The family members of the female victim who was involved in the head-on collision and the passenger who was in the pickup truck, are likely to be able to make a compensation claim against the pick-up truck driver's insurers if he is deemed to have been at fault in the accident.
