Footballer Beckham unhurt in three-car motorway accidentCelebrity England footballer David Beckham was involved in a motorway accident in Los Angeles, California, when his car was in collision with a broken-down vehicle. The former Manchester United and Real Madrid star, who now plays for LA Galaxy, was driving his Cadillac on a freeway when the accident occurred. He had been in the UK a week earlier, attending the wedding of Prince William and Kate Middleton. A spokeswoman for the California Highway Patrol said the 40-year-old driver of the stranded car, a Mitsubishi, had been taken to hospital but was not seriously injured. A third vehicle was also involved in the car crash. Newspaper reports said other cars were trying to avoid the car stuck in the fast lane but were unable to do so. Beckham, who is 36, was unhurt as was his oldest son, Brooklyn, a passenger in the luxury car at the time, which occurred at the end of rush hour while the footballer was on his way to his club's training ground. He has not been arrested or charged with a motoring offence relating to the incident at present. However, if the other motorist believes the midfielder is liable for the accident, he may consult a personal injury lawyer with a view to making a compensation claim for his injury.
