Filling station car crash wrecks birthday present car
A petrol station car crash has wrecked a Scottish teenager's car, and inflicted personal injury on her and her passenger - just two weeks after the vehicle had been the young woman's birthday present.
The smash occurred as an Asda delivery truck backed into the Peugeot 206 as the young woman looked for her purse in the supermarket's petrol station. The driver suffered shoulder and neck injury, while her passenger has been diagnosed with whiplash.
The father of the 18-year-old told their local paper that the car accident had been serious enough that he expected the insurance company to write off the Peugeot 206, and that initial sympathy from the grocery giant appeared to have frosted over.
Responding to the car crash, an Asda spokesperson said, "We're very sorry that one of our vans damaged Ms Kane's car. The claim will now be dealt with by her insurance company and ours. Hopefully, she'll be back on the road in no time."
