Major York road closed after serious injury in car accident
This Tuesday saw an early morning car crash in Yorkshire that left both drivers hospitalised, one with "life-threatening" personal injury.
The road traffic accident occurred at 5am on the A64, to the north east of York, when a red Mazda and a white Transit van collided. Traffic was diverted throughout the rush hour around the car accident scene.
The Mazda driver is believed to have suffered "serious injuries", but the driver of the Transit is reported to have suffered only minor damage. Both were taken to hospital. No news was forthcoming regarding compensation claims by either party.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the car crash, or events leading up to it, to contact York road policing group on 0845 60 60 247.
This car crash follows rapidly on the heels of a road traffic accident in the same place almost exactly a week ago, also featuring a Mazda. In that incident, no-one received serious injuries, mostly experiencing whiplash and minor cuts.
