A 62-year-old bus driver who was forced to take early retirement because of injuries he sustained in a road accident has successfully made a car crash claim.
A car crash claim settlement of £30,000 was negotiated between the Newcastle-based claimant's personal injury solicitor and the insurers of the BMW driver who sideswiped him, pushing him into the concrete barriers, causing whiplash.
Commenting on his ordeal, the claimant said, "It was a horrifying experience. I was forced into the central reservation with hundreds of cars flying past me. The police were called. I suffered whiplash and since then a great deal of stress."
Meanwhile the personal injury solicitor who, in conjunction with the man's union, represented the car crash claim, commented, "Thirty thousand pounds is a significant settlement for a road traffic accident, and in this case, it reflects the impact that the accident has had on [the claimant's] life, forcing him to retire earlier than he had planned."
*A replacement vehicle can usually be supplied within 4-6 working hours, where there is an admission of liability from the other person’s insurance company. If this person is not known, their insurance details are not known, they are uninsured or there is a potential dispute over who caused the accident, a replacement vehicle cannot be provided.
