A car crash claim may be made following a serious accident in Aberdeenshire between a car and a van on the A975.
The 39-year-old driver of the blue Ford Fiesta had to be cut free from her car by fire fighters and was taken to Aberdeen Royal Infirmary after suffering serious injuries in the car accident.
The 33-year-old van driver was unhurt in the car crash.
The road was closed for several hours following the traffic collision.
Grampian Police have appealed for any witnesses to the accident to come forward and help them with their enquiries.
The cause of the crash has not yet been reported.
Once liability for the crash has been determined, a car crash claim may be made.
