Esure claims car accidents won't take your no claims bonus
The online car insurance company esure has produced a report which suggests that protecting your no claims bonus from the effects of a car accident may be less useful than it sounds.
This is because some companies hedge their no-claims protection schemes around with conditions and small print that will invalidate that protection if, for example, you have too many car crashes. Some will only allow you to have one at-fault car accident in your first year being insured by that company.
Losing your bonus at the same time as suffering the effects of the crash - which may include physical or psychological personal injury - can come as a double blow. Esure has therefore decided to offer a lifetime protection policy that will safeguard a driver's bonus no matter how many claims they make.
A spokesman said "We believe that safe drivers who have earned their maximum no claim discount from driving claim-free deserve to be fully protected."
*A replacement vehicle can usually be supplied within 4-6 working hours, where there is an admission of liability from the other person’s insurance company. If this person is not known, their insurance details are not known, they are uninsured or there is a potential dispute over who caused the accident, a replacement vehicle cannot be provided.
