Lancashire car accident victim in half-a-million settlement
A Lancashire man, who lost his arm in a 2004 car accident, has been awarded £500,000 compensation after the at-fault driver's insurers offered an out-of-court settlement.
The 25-year-old man was a passenger in a car when the driver lost control of the vehicle, collided with a lamp-post, and eventually hit a wall.
The personal injury victim was a keen cricketer and had signed up for a local team only a month before the accident.
Since the accident in 2004, the car passenger has been unable to work and has suffered physical and psychological trauma.
He said, ""It has been difficult and a really testing time. When I am awake I am in constant pain and still suffer flashbacks from that night."
The lawyer acting for the claimant said of the car accident victim, "He is very pleased with the outcome of the case and he is now in the process of re-planning his future with the sizeable settlement award."
*A replacement vehicle can usually be supplied within 4-6 working hours, where there is an admission of liability from the other person’s insurance company. If this person is not known, their insurance details are not known, they are uninsured or there is a potential dispute over who caused the accident, a replacement vehicle cannot be provided.
