Worcester learner driver fined but not ordered to pay compensation
A learner driver who was involved in a car accident with a parked car has received five penalty points on his license and a £350 fine for driving without due care and attention, failing to drive in accordance with a license and failing to stop after an accident.
The 20-year-old caused the car accident in a Worcester shopping centre car park earlier this year when he drove into a parked vehicle. He claims he did not stop to leave a note because he had not noticed that he'd caused any damage; no one suffered personal injury in the incident.
The judge hearing the car accident case at Worcester Magistrates Court did not order the payment of any compensation as the defendant's insurance company are already in the process of negotiating a settlement.
