Drivers in spectacular Norwich smash mostly escape unhurt
A spectacular car accident in Norfolk saw a car overturned with its bonnet caved in and a man hospitalised on Monday. The A47 near Trowse was the site of the road traffic accident, which involved two other vehicles and destroyed a set of traffic lights, at 6.45am.
An eye witness said "I just saw the car come up behind me in the next lane while I was waiting to go and the next thing I knew, it had crashed into the traffic lights completely taking them out."
Fire fighters were called, but were not needed. Ambulance crews, however, took one man to hospital with minor personal injury including damage to the shoulder. The Highways Agency were also called out to deal with the damaged road furniture once the vehicles were made safe.
Reports from this collision do not state whether any drivers intend to make a personal injury compensation claim. Previous car accidents on this Norfolk blackspot include a fatal crash eighteen months ago.
