Car accident compensation is being sought by a professional footballer who had his career cruelly ended by passenger injuries sustained in a 2008 incident.
News of the car accident compensation bid was broken by the footballer's no win, no fee solicitor. He said, "[My client] has started court proceedings against the other driver.
"At the moment there's a dispute about who was responsible for the accident. There's nothing more I can really add to that."
However, it is expected to be some time before the passenger injury claim reaches court; as yet, the official police investigation has reached no conclusions as to the causes of the incident.
The footballer, a midfielder who made over 300 appearances with Yeovil Town, suffered near-fatal injuries in the collision and has had to endure nine operations.
However, he has now had to admit defeat in his fruitless attempts to return to football, something that is likely to be recognised in any car accident compensation settlement he receives.
