A 23-year-old man who suffered serious injuries in a car accident which took place in 1996 has been awarded compensation.
The man was just seven years old when the accident took place near his home in Swindon. The boy was playing with his brother when a car sped through the residential area and collided with him.
The accident caused serious head injuries which left the boy in a coma for seven days and in hospital for a month.
The driver of the car was later accused of being unfit to drive due to his bad eye sight.
After 15 years the victim still suffers with learning difficulties as a result of the injuries resultant from the accident.
He has now been awarded over £1 million in road traffic accident compensation for his pain and suffering. This will also help with ongoing care costs and loss of earnings.
