British cyclist killed, another injured in Australia

Relatives of a British woman killed in a car accident in Australia may make a car accident claim following the verdict on the cause of the crash.

The 66-year-old woman was cycling with her partner in New South Wales when they were both in a collision with a white Ford Fiesta.

While the male cyclist escaped the scene with only minor head injuries, the female cyclist was killed instantly in the car crash.

The 25-year-old driver was treated for shock but was released from hospital later that day.

The car accident took place on a stretch of road with a 62mph speed limit at around 7.20am local time.

Police are investigating to find out if speed, drugs or alcohol played a part in the traffic collision.

It is not known at this stage whether the male cyclist is likely to make a car accident claim for his injuries.
