A Wiltshire blackspot for car accidents has seen three serious incidents in the past three months. On the same stretch of the Drove Road, a disabled man has been struck while using a pedestrian crossing, a motorcyclist has been trapped beneath a van, and this weekend a seven-year-old boy was hit and killed in a fatal car accident.
Flowers and toys have been left in tribute to the boy, who was walking with his mother and their dogs at the time the car crash happened.
Residents of the area have demanded that safety measures should be installed and improved to reduce the risk of further car accidents in the future.
Reports state that the driver of the car was a Swindon teenager, and was not injured in the collision. He was arrested at the scene and will appear at Gablecross Police Station at a later date.
Police are still appealing for witnesses to the car accident, who should call 0845 408 7000.
*A replacement vehicle can usually be supplied within 4-6 working hours, where there is an admission of liability from the other person’s insurance company. If this person is not known, their insurance details are not known, they are uninsured or there is a potential dispute over who caused the accident, a replacement vehicle cannot be provided.
