Scouts on Canadian holiday in whiplash crash with tractor
A group of West Lancashire Scouts was involved in a road traffic accident while holidaying in Canada this weekend. The young people have been left with varying degrees of whiplash and other personal injury, but none life-threatening.
The accident occurred on Friday, when one of two buses carrying more than 100 teenaged girls and boys was involved in a crash with another vehicle, which reports suggest to have been an articulated tractor.
A spokesperson for the Scouts, following the collision, said, "One young person suffering from shock remains in hospital but her injuries are not life-threatening. She is under observation."
Later reports state that this girl has since been discharged from hospital.
The teenagers were reaching the end of a two-week holiday when the bus crash occurred.
*A replacement vehicle can usually be supplied within 4-6 working hours, where there is an admission of liability from the other person’s insurance company. If this person is not known, their insurance details are not known, they are uninsured or there is a potential dispute over who caused the accident, a replacement vehicle cannot be provided.
