£300,000 compensation claim for man in taxi door accident
A Darlington man has launched a taxi accident compensation claim after he suffered head injuries when a taxi door shut on him.
The 26-year-old man was going home from a night out when he hailed a taxi and attempted to open the door before it had come to a halt. As the driver braked, the sliding door of the taxi was forced shut and slammed against the man's head.
Doctors discovered that the accident had caused a fractured skull and that he was suffering from bleeding on the brain. Following a 16-day period in intensive care, thorough rehabilitation and two operations, the man is still left severely disabled and unlikely to work again.
He is seeking a £300,000 taxi accident compensation claim from the driver of the cab, claiming that the driver had not maintained the door properly and that his negligence had caused the personal injury accident to occur.
