Personal injury in vehicle crash between ambulance and carAn ambulance on its way to answer an emergency call was involved in a vehicle crash with a black Honda Civic resulting in injuries to two men. The 29-year-old driver of the Honda had to be cut free by fire officers who went to the scene near the Prince of Wales public house at Heathfield, East Sussex. Other ambulances responded to the accident, with one taking over the emergency response and another transporting the accident victims to hospital. The motorist was taken to Eastbourne District General Hospital with a 24-year-old paramedic who was in the front passenger seat of the ambulance. Its driver was unhurt in the road traffic accident which occurred at 6.15am. The owner of a nearby newsagent's shop told a local newspaper, "I could hear the ambulance siren and then a crash. I heard a couple of crashes with no brakes. That's what I thought was a bit strange because usually you hear a screech of brakes and then a thud." The B2203 was blocked by the collision for three hours. The South East Coast Ambulance Service NHS Trust and Sussex Police are investigating the personal injury accident. If someone is found to be at fault for causing the vehicle crash, one or more of the victims may be able to consult a no win no fee solicitor with a view to making a compensation claim.
