The car narrowly avoided hitting the family inside the house at Southwold Drive in Wollaton.
Thankfully neither those inside the house or in the car were injured in the car accident although one of the neighbours believed the crash could have lead to serious casualties.
He added that if the occupant's 11-year-old daughter had been in the garden at the time of the incident, she would have likely been killed by the car.
According to the police, the accident caused "significant structural damage" to the house.
Although the damage was covered by insurance, they cannot go home until builders have finished making sure it is structurally safe.
As no one was hurt in the incident accident compensation will not need to be sought.
