Passengers have been left suffering personal injuries after a double-decker bus struck a tree and lost its roof in a bus accident.
The bus accident which took place in Bristol injured 18 of the passengers on board, seven of whom were taken to hospital for the treatment of their personal injuries.
The Great Western Ambulance Service was called out to attend to the incident and treat the passengers who had mostly suffered from head injuries. The fire and police service were also at the scene of the accident.
The accident occurred when the double-decker 342 service was driven into the branches of a tree which were hanging down into the road. The bus was transporting a number of passengers at the time.
Fishponds Road, where the incident took place was closed for almost five hours while the bus accident was investigated by officials.
It has not yet been reported whether the driver of the vehicle was at fault for the bus accident, but if they are liable then injured passengers may be able to claim compensation from the bus company for their pain and suffering.
