Back injury compensation and town centre car crashA young driver appears to have caused another motorist to suffer personal injuries in a car crash in Ipswich, which may mean that the victim can claim back injury compensation. The 21-year-old, who was arrested by police under the suspicion of driving while under the influence of alcohol, collided with another vehicle in St Matthew's Street in the town centre. Causing long traffic delays, the road was closed for around an hour and 30 minutes while paramedics, police and fire crews worked to help the two men who were described by a witness as having "blood all over their faces". The cars were badly damaged in the road traffic accident, and fire crews had to cut one of the men from his vehicle. Reports also state that paramedics took a man to hospital with a back injury and a bleeding nose. The information on the incident does not make clear whether the young driver suffered any severe injuries from the accident himself. If investigations and enquiries by police into the events leading up to the car crash find that the young man was liable for the other road user's injuries, then he may have a back injury compensation claim made against him by the victim for pain, suffering and loss of earnings.
