Motorbike crash – replacement motorbike and personal injury compensation following an accident
Motorbike crash accidents are a major source of compensation claims in the UK and can involve some serious injuries. If you have had a motorbike crash that wasn’t your fault, regardless of whether you have comprehensive or third party motorbike insurance, we can provide you with a free replacement motorcycle, usually within the same day of you contacting us*.
If you are comprehensively insured you don’t have to claim on your policy if you have had a non fault motorbike crash. We can organise the repairs to your vehicle and send the bill directly to the car or motorbike insurance company of the person who was responsible for causing the motorbike crash. This means you won’t have to pay your policy excess for making a claim on your motorbike insurance policy and your premium or no claims discount won’t be affected if the claim is not settled by the time your policy is due for renewal.
How we can help following a motorbike crash
The sooner you contact us following your non-fault motorbike crash, the sooner we can get your vehicle repairs underway.
You will need to provide us with the date, time and place of the motorbike crash and a description of how the accident happened. In order for you to get your vehicle repairs underway, we will also need the name, address, registration number and insurance company of the person who you believe was responsible for causing the motorbike crash.
Even if you don’t have the full details of the person who caused the motorbike crash, we may still be able to help. We may be able to trace the other person, through various sources including the police (if they attended the scene of the accident) and the DVLA database. Should the other person be untraceable or uninsured, we may still be able to pursue a claim for personal injury and damage to your vehicle through an organisation called the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB), an organisation funded by the insurance industry to assist people who have been involved in a motorbike crash with untraced or uninsured drivers. More information about the MIB…
We will instruct an independent, insurance company approved engineer to inspect your motorcycle, within 72 hours of receiving your claim. They will assess the damage to your vehicle and produce a written report outlining the estimated cost of repairs.
We will liaise with the insurance company of the person who was responsible for the motorbike crash and once we have received the engineer’s report we will give you the go ahead for you to book your vehicle to be repaired at an insurance company approved garage.
Free replacement motorbike*
We will arrange a hire motorbike for you to use whilst your vehicle is being repaired. This will be an equivalent model to your own. The hire motorbike will be fully insured and will be paid for by the insurance company of the person who caused the motorbike crash. If your vehicle is undrivable or unroadworthy following the motorbike crash, we can usually get a replacement motorbike to you to the same day you contact us.
The delivery and collection of the replacement motorbike is included in our service and we will arrange for it to be delivered to you at a convenient time and place. Click here to view our replacement motorbike fleet…
The repair bill will be sent directly to the insurance company of the person who caused the motorbike crash. There will be nothing for you to pay.
If your motorbike is a write-off
If your vehicle is written-off in a motorbike crash we can instruct an independent, insurance company approved engineer to inspect and assess the value of your vehicle and produce an independent report. We will liaise with the insurance companies of the people involved in the accident and forward the engineer’s report to the person a fault’s insurance company, requesting they provide you a cheque for the pre-accident value of your motorbike.
The sum of money will reflect the current market value of your vehicle in the condition it was in before the motorbike crash and will be sufficient to enable you to replace your vehicle with one of the same age, mileage, condition and specification to your own.
