Motorbike accident claims - personal injury compensation and free replacement motorbike*
Motorbike accident claims are one of the most common types of compensation claims in the UK and often involve complicated injuries. If you have had a motorbike accident that wasn’t your fault, regardless of whether you have comprehensive or third party car insurance, we can provide you with a free replacement motorbike, usually within the same day of you contacting us*.
If you are comprehensively insured you don’t have to claim on your policy if you have had a non fault motorbike accident. We can organise the repairs to your motorbike and send the bill directly to the motorbike insurance company of the person who was responsible for causing the motorbike accident. This means you won’t have to pay your policy excess for making a claim on your car insurance policy and your premium or no claims discount won’t be affected if the claim is not settled by the time your policy is due for renewal.
How we can help following a motorbike accident
The sooner you contact us following your non-fault motorbike accident, the sooner we can get your vehicle repairs underway.
You will need to provide us with the date, time and place of the motorbike accident and a description of how the accident happened. In order for you to get your motorbike repairs underway, we will also need the name, address, registration number and insurance company of the person who you believe was responsible for causing the motorbike accident.
Even if you don’t have the full details of the person who caused the motorbike accident, we may still be able to help. We may be able to trace the other person, through various sources including the police (if they attended the scene of the motorbike accident) and the DVLA database. Should the other person be untraceable or uninsured, we may still be able to pursue a claim for personal injury and damage to your motorbike through an organisation called the Motor Insurers’ Bureau (MIB), an organisation funded by the insurance industry to assist people who have been involved in motorbike accidents with untraced or uninsured drivers. More information about the MIB…
We will instruct an independent, insurance company approved engineer to inspect your vehicle, within 72 hours of receiving your claim. They will assess the damage to your vehicle and produce a written report outlining the estimated cost of repairs.
We will liaise with the insurance company of the person who was responsible for the motorbike accident and once we have received the engineer’s report we will give you the go ahead for you to book your motorbike to be repaired at an insurance company approved garage.
Free replacement motorbike *
We will arrange a hire motorbike for you to use whilst your vehicle is being repaired. This will be an equivalent model to your own. So if you need a six seater car for your large family, a van or a prestige car for your job, that’s what we’ll provide you with. The hire car will be fully insured and will be paid for by the insurance company of the person who caused the motorbike accident. If your vehicle is undrivable or unroadworthy following the motorbike accident, we can usually get a replacement motorbike to you to the same day you contact us *.
The delivery and collection of the replacement motorbike is included in our service and we will arrange for it to be delivered to you at a convenient time and place. Click here to view our replacement motorbike fleet.
The repair bill will be sent directly to the insurance company of the person who caused the motorbike accident. There will be nothing for you to pay.
If your motorbike is a write-off
If your motorbike is written-off in a motorbike accident we can instruct an independent, insurance company approved engineer to inspect and assess the value of your vehicle and produce an independent report. We will liaise with the insurance companies of the people involved in the motorbike accident and forward the engineer’s report to the person a fault’s insurance company, requesting they provide you a cheque for the pre-accident value of your vehicle.
The sum of money will reflect the current market value of your motorbike in the condition it was in before the motorbike accident and will be sufficient to enable you to replace your motorbike with one of the same age, mileage, condition and specification to your own.
